The fourth rule of firearms safety is target awareness– knowing what your target is and what is around it before you make the decision to fire. It’s not just a good idea, it’s a requirement, and that’s why Holosun entered the weapon light market their new P.I.D. light, so you can make positive identification of everything in your target area. Holosun has a reputation for toughness and state of the art features and the P.I.D. Plus light + laser unit doesn’t disappoint.
The P.I.D. Plus body is made from 7075-T6 aluminum with a 1913 Picatinny mounting interface. A rechargeable 18350 battery is included but you don’t need to remove it to recharge, because a USB type C charging cable plugs right into the bottom of the light body. Oversized, dual ambidextrous paddles give you easy and instinctive control. There are two brightness levels, the top level with 1,000 lumens and up to an hour of battery life on the lower brightness mode. The white light’s beam pattern is best described as “intermediate” with a good practical balance between throw and spill. Easily selectable modes allow you to fire the light and laser independently of each other, or both together at the same time.
The P.I.D. light is IPX68 waterproof and will generally fit and work in light bearing holsters intended for Surefire X300 or Streamlight TLR-1 full size weapon lights. The P.I.D. Plus has a bright green laser that emits from inside the the light bezel, so unlike previous light + laser units, holster compatibility isn’t compromised by the incorporation of the laser.
